The Institutional Evaluation Programme (IEP) is an independent membership service of the European University Association (EUA) that has been designed to ensure that higher education institutions gain maximum benefit from a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a team of experienced higher education leaders. The intention is that these evaluations support the participating institutions in the continuing development of their strategic leadership, capacity to manage change and internal quality culture, and that IEP provides recommendations in the context of their specific aims and objectives.
The distinctive features of the Institutional Evaluation Programme are:
- A strong emphasis on the self-evaluation phase
- A European and international perspective
- A peer-review approach
- An improvement orientation
